Lovers of all things #blackgirlmagic celebrated when Netflix announced it has picked up its first African original animated series, Mama K’s Team 4 for a multitude of reasons. First: African girls are woefully under — and misrepresented — on the small screen. Second: it appeared to underscore Netflix’s goal to make room for other voices.
